yOUR SAFETY COMES FIRST
We hope that you and your family have remained safe and in good health during this challenging time and our hearts go out to those affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. While there are many things that have changed in our world due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, here at Mission Hill Dental Centre we are committed to ensuring your visit back to our practice is a safe and pleasant experience. We are in the process of contacting our current patients for their recall appointments. Those with emergencies and urgent care will be prioritized. As our doors re-open we welcome as always new patients to our clinic.
As of May 14, 2020, we are able to begin treating all dental needs according to the Alberta Dental Association and College. We have implemented these changes to help keep our patients and staff safe, including:
We look forward to seeing our patients again soon and are happy to answer any questions you may have. In order for our patients and staff to feel safe and comfortable within our clinic, we must focus on following appropriate protocols that have been put in place.

As of May 14, 2020, we are able to begin treating all dental needs according to the Alberta Dental Association and College. As a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have implemented new and additional measures to enhance the existing infection policies, procedures and protocols we have in place. We have implemented these changes to help keep our patients and staff safe, including:
- Pre-screening of all patients prior to their appointment and again once entering the clinic at which time patients are asked to sign a Covid-19 Pandemic Dental Treatment Form/Waiver that they are symptom free.
- Temperature checks for patient upon arrival to the clinic.
- All team members will be screened daily with temperatures taken and daily waivers signed that they are symptom free.
- Please bring and wear your facemask once entering the clinic. If you do not have a facemask, we will provide you with one.
- Once entering the clinic, we ask all patients to thoroughly wash their hands. Hand sanitizers available throughout clinic.
- We have removed all magazines, children's toys, etc. from our waiting room in order to minimize infection spread.
- We will be limiting the number of patients in the clinic as well as appointments will be staggered in order to allow for social distancing between patients and staff members.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be used by all staff members including N95 (or equivalent) masks, gowns, gloves and face shields when required.
- Extended time between patients will be provided to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfection of treatment rooms and equipment.
- Cleaning and disinfection of reception area, restrooms, doorknobs, countertops, pens, Ipads, etc. will be completed with high frequency and as needed.
- Patients will be asked to rinse with a hydrogen peroxide mouth solution prior to commencing oral treatment.
- As much as we love interacting with our patients, this will be significantly reduced to allow for social distancing, run time in the treatment areas and appropriate time for disinfecting treatment areas, instruments, etc.
- For the immediate future, we will NOT be using our waiting room for patients or family members. We will be implementing a “virtual waiting room” to minimize patient-to-patient contact. Patients will be asked to call or text our office upon arrival to their appointment BUT we ask them to remain in their vehicles until we call or text the patient to come into the office. A staff member will then greet them at the door and proceed with in-office screening. We ask patients to avoid bringing friends and family members to the appointment with the exception of children or those with special needs. Those attending the appointment with the patient will also be required to go through the screening process.
We look forward to seeing our patients again soon and are happy to answer any questions you may have. In order for our patients and staff to feel safe and comfortable within our clinic, we must focus on following appropriate protocols that have been put in place.
